Arts and Nature Rx
Arts and Nature Rx is a free program to support students' mental health and well-being by connecting them to arts, culture, and nature experiences. These experiences include art classes, museums, nature hikes, dance workshops, theater performances, outdoor exploration, and more. The goal is that participating in these types of experiences will help students reduce stress and anxiety, feel more connected, and improve overall mood.
1. Talk to a provider at Dartmouth Student Health Service at Dick's House
If you're interested in Arts and Nature Rx, talk to a provider at Dartmouth Student Health Service at Dick's House to they can see if you are eligible. If you are, they will complete a quick online referral. Then someone from our partner organization, Art Pharmacy, will reach out either by email or phone to get the process started.
2. Meet your care navigator
Once you've been referred, a care navigator from Art Pharmacy will reach out to help you complete a short intake survey. This will help us learn about your arts, culture, and nature interest and current mental health goals.
3. Pick your monthly activity and enjoy!
Each month, your care navigator will share personalized options for arts, culture, and nature experiences. You get to choose what sounds fun, and your care navigator will reserve your tickets. You always have the option to bring a friend!
After each monthly experience, you'll complete a short survey to see how it went and check in on your mental health goals. Your care navigator uses that feedback to tailor your preferences for the next month's experience.

Can I bring someone with me?
Yes! You will receive a free second ticket so you can always invite a friend.
Is it anonymous?
Yes, all participation is anonymous and your information will remain confidential. You will receive your tickets and attend your events just as any other attendee. you have the option to let your care navigator inform someone at the event if you'd like extra assistance or support, but that is completely up to you.
What is a care navigator?
A care navigator is someone who helps you every step of the way. They will help you choose what to do, solve any problems or figure out logistics, and check in on how you're doing.
What if I need to cancel?
If you know ahead of time that you can't attend an event, please let your care navigator know at least 48 hours before. They will help you find another event. If it is within 48 hours of your event, please let your care navigator know. They will have you complete a survey and find another event for next month.
